Do you want Princess Daisy to be in Smash Bros?
Not particularly, no. I’m not against her being in spin off games like Mario Party or sports games or what have you, and would be fine with her getting more of a role in the actual Mario series, but I don’t really feel like she has anything unique enough going for her to warrant being yet another Mario character in Smash. Mario already is one of the most represented series in the game.
Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Rosalina, Bowser Jr., Dr. Mario, so 7. And that’s not even counting characters that basically got their start with the Mario series (Yoshi and Wario), and then there’s DK and Diddy, which often get connected to Mario as well. So even just counting the “definitely Mario official mushroom symbol and all” characters, that’s 7 already. Compared to Pokemon and Fire Emblem, which at the current point in time, have 6 each, so Mario is the MOST represented series.
As such, I’d rather see new slots go to other series, or possibly some returning veterans. Like ultimately, I’d love to see Smash keep the current roster and just keep adding to it, i.e., stop cutting characters dangit. My main wishes for characters at this point would be Wolf and the Ice Climbers returning, and Shovel Knight and Inklings getting in as newcomers. I would have also loved Simon Belmont, but then Konami decided to dumb.
