The shan was based on an artifact excavated from a Ming dynasty tomb from 1502 南昌寧靖王夫人吳氏墓 (the artifact in the photo had the inner ren/panel out), but the shop 凤逸雅苑 switched the ties to a button at the bottom of the collar to suit modern taste (the middle button could be added with request).
The effect of the collar when worn is similar to those shown in ancient drawing such as 1451 (景泰二年) 《昌平候杨洪朝服像》(see here on weibo).
