Gabardine Jackets
The style of jacket worn by Steve in the cinema, alley, and Stark Expo scenes of CA:TFA, is a gabardine jacket, named from the material it is made of — a blend of rayon and cotton twill, which has a soft shine to it. It was a popular jacket style during the 1940s and 1950s, with the colours and designs changing gradually over time. The jacket hung straight to the waist, with angled slit pockets on the sides, and either buttons or zips down the front. The one worn by Steve looks like it is most probably a zipper design, though it's not completely clear.
Prices could range from around $7.98 - $19.95 for men’s [x] [x] [x], and $1.59 - $2.25 for boys [x] [x] during the early 1940s — though it is quite possible Steve’s was bought/acquired second-hand.
