I don't know what it feels like to be a boy, I do have 2 brothers and am acquainted with a number of male friends, but it's never the same. Some time last year I got into a conversation with a young man, His mother was late and the father had just passed on. I was irritated about certain behaviors common with the men when he told me “you don't understand". He said to be a man in Nigeria is not easy, most men are burdened with a sense of responsibility yet opportunities are either few, corrupt or too expensive, this makes one run into the arms of alcohol, hard drugs, pornography and all sorts of addictions. This made my heart really sad.
