I decided to watch Howards End for the first time

So I think for a long time M/I were always known as a duo like all their films were prefaced with merchant-ivory and like to the point where a lot of ppl even thought they were co-directors like coen brothers, it was only after merchant’s death and james ivory’s re-emergence after cmbyn that his name came to the forefront. also cause he did a lot of press and promo for cmbyn and the recent 4K restorations of the films.

definitely yeah like with cmbyn and the new interviews and everything, and also being the only one left from the merchant-ivory trio, james ivory's name came to the forefront like you said, and I just remembered he also did a maurice interview with pierre l'homme the cinematographer, who also passed away shortly after. so yeah like james ivory gets a lot of of the media attention now, but again obv its super important to give credit to all the people that helped maurice be what it is, and did so much work on arwav and howards end and all the non-forster adaptation films like heat and dust and cotton mary and shakespeare-wallah
