he hated december. he felt kind of like a grinch when he said it out loud, but he hated christmas, too. it used to be his favorite holiday, where he could spoil his dad with something nice with and his dad couldn’t say shit about it. even with the looming knowledge of his mother’s death having been too close to christmas for comfort, it was a time he could bring up his dad’s spirits -- it was special.
now, it was ruined, and he wanted nothing to do with the entire month.
he sat on the ledge of the rooftop, legs dangling over the edge, kicking back and forth. he frowned down at his hands, fiddling with the keychain in them. he felt a strong urge to just throw it, but his hands shook at the idea -- if he’d done that, he knew he’d regret it in the morning, and he’d panic trying to find it.
he huffed, watching his visible breath fade, and stuck it into one of his pockets, expression completely changing. he smirked and looked back towards the person behind him. “ what brings you t’my office? ” he leaned forward, hands gripping the ledge for more balance as he continued to kick his feet carelessly.
