The Nearby Team busted out of town last week to celebrate America on the 4th and spend the long weekend with friends and family. We hope you did too. One of our Founders, our Director of Sales and our Editor hit the beach, while our Account Manager headed out to Aspen and another Founder jumped the pond to Paris (lucky!)…of course, we all sported outfits exclusively from our favorite shops on The Nearby while traveling. Spreading the word on The Nearby shops and soaking up the sun at the same time never felt so good. We checked in with a couple of our friends on the app and it seems like they had a big time last weekend too…relive all the excitement here:
We caught up with Woo Caroland of Woo Skincare & Cosmetics on the 4th who sent us this pic of the biggest, best ALL AMERICAN HOT DOG we've ever seen. Nothing like a good burger or dog to celebrate America. Mmmmmm...
The Nearby's Meg is rocking her cute blouse from Copper Penny all the way out in Colorado. Doesn't it look b-e-a-utiful out there?! We're thinking Copper Penny needs to open up a store in Aspen...
Our friends at By George down in Austin were beating the Texas heat on the 4th with some margaritas and markdowns in the store! SO upset we missed out on that party!
Captain Ed, one of The Nearby's biggest fans (we love you too, dad), sported the Faherty Brand trunks he got for Father's Day all weekend long. As the Faherty bros would put it, their beach gear is made for "life's great moments at the beach and all the times you wish you were there." Check out all of their rad designs in the app and get yourself a suit!
The Nearby's Casey spent the weekend taking in the sunset and paddle-boarding in Ocean Isle. She takes the prize for dressing to the nines in The Nearby swag with looks from Emmaline, Meredith Wendell, SavVy, Van Jean, Melvin, and Judith Bright! Even her dog (and The Nearby's mascot) Bleeckerman is looking the part with his snazzy Meredith Wendell collar and new patriotic doggy toys from Folly. He played and danced all weekend long.
Sormeh and Susan of CORAL headed out to Hilton Head for the weekend. Of course, they're looking fabulous dressed from head to toe in threads from their shop!
The Nearby's Amanda broke out a Poole Shop cover up from the archives for a beach cruise in Sullivan's Island. She wears another Poole Shop frock and a Lizzie Fortunato necklace to hit the dance floor on the 4th (don't mind her boyfriend's "boogie on down" face). Her (hilarious) mother Lisa wears a lovely candle on her head from Capitol. Her necklaces? Melvin, Melvin, and more Melvin!
While The Nearby's Founder Laura was unable to spend the 4th in America, she made the best of her time in Paris looking at beautiful things. Yes, the flowers are striking as is the splendid view of Tuileries Palace, but the sighting of the Kaiser himself takes the cake. Ah, Sir Lagerfeld. Unfortunately the real celebrity, his famed cat/accessory Choupette, was nowhere to be seen.
While all this sun and fun was going down, Miranda Boyle and Sara Guice of Thread were having a blast during their photoshoot in Columbus this weekend! Don't they look great?!
Here's to America! Hope everyone had a blast last weekend!
