I'm fighting the urge to just change this Tumblr into "FuckyeahButterglory." They are possibly the most underrated band on Merge, every track a winner!
Bricks were one of Mac McCaughan's early bands, and their first cassette, Winterspring, was MRG001. The compact disc that collects their whole output, A Microphone And A Box Of Dirt, is pretty much excellent from start to finish, a set of great and casual songs, casually recorded, pretty unaffected and just naturally good. Andrew from Tsunami and Laura Cantrell were the other main collaborators, and I particularly like Laura and Mac's voices together.
