i wanted gwaine to find out about merlin’s magic if nothing else for the comedic potential of him being kinda offended lancelot already knew

the most unfair thing in Merlin is how Lancelot died a hero and then was brought back to betray Arthur and that's. that's just everyone's last memory of him. Merlin never tells anyone it wasn't him in the end. so Arthur and the knights are left to believe he killed himself in the dungeon.
