THE TOUR DIARIES
Day 3 on the tour of Sweden and Norway || 30 January- 2 February 2018
Before their departure from Sweden the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended a meeting with Swedish Armed Forces Defence Minister in Stockholm which had been moved from the Uppala airbase.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived at Oslo Gardermoen Airport amid heavy snow and were greeted by Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit on arrival. They then traveled to the Royal Palace where they welcomed by King Harald and they also met Queen Sonja and other members of the Norwegian Royal Family.
After lunch William and Catherine were accompanied by Queen Sonja, Crown Prince Haakon, Crown Princess Mette-Marit and young Princess Ingrid Alexandra for a tour of the Princess Ingrid Alexandra Sculpture Park within the palace gardens.
The park features sculptures designed by children, for children through various competitions in schools across Norway. The couple then took part in a walkabout and spoke with the crowds of people gathered.
Following this they were accompanied by Haakon and Mette-Marit to the largest co-working space for start-ups and entrepreneurs, MESH where they tried out devices created by the innovators.
At night the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended a black-tie dinner organized in Oslo which was attended by members of government, leaders in business, members from the Norwegian creative industries, and the serving members as well as the veterans of the country's Armed Forces. William also delivered a speech at the event.
