I’m going to say this one more time. I’ve said it before, more than once actually, but given everything that’s been happening lately, I feel like I need to say it again, especially because of the ASKS I’ve been getting over the past few days. So let’s clear this up once againg.
This is not a group project. It never has been. My blog is my own space. The things I write about here are the things I want to write about. The ASKS I post, the ones I respond to, the ones I decide to highlight, they’re entirely up to me. Nobody else. If you’ve got your own way of seeing things, fair enough, that’s your right. But equally, what I believe and what I choose to talk about is my right. That’s how it works.
Let me make this crystal clear: I am not shutting my blog down. My perspective hasn’t changed, and my feelings haven’t shifted. I’m still here, and I’m still supporting Jimin and Jungkook. Whatever relationship they have, whatever way they define it or choose not to define it, I’ll keep supporting them because that’s what I want to do. I’m here for BTS, I’m here for Jimin and Jungkook, and I’ll stay here for them. That’s not going to change because someone else has decided they see things differently.
I’ll carry on writing about them, I’ll keep getting excited over their moments, their words, their music, their energy. I’ll keep celebrating the things they share with us, big or small. I can’t wait for the second season of their show, and I can’t wait for the music they’ll be releasing in the future. These are the things that bring me joy, and this space is where I get to share that.
So if you’ve “stopped believing in jikook”, if you think you’ve suddenly ‘woken up’, if you’re convinced you’ve discovered some grand truth well, good for you, honestly. Congratulations. But it has nothing to do with me. I don’t care. The fact that you’ve changed your mind doesn’t mean I’m obliged to do the same. And the fact that I continue to believe what I believe doesn’t mean you need to follow me either. We are not tied to each other. We are independent people. I am an independent person. I make my own choices, and I trust myself enough to know what I want and what I don’t. Right now, what I want is to keep doing exactly this.
I don’t owe anyone an explanation for the way I run this blog, least of all strangers on the internet. I don’t need to justify myself to you, and I don’t need you coming in here trying to tell me I remind you of this person or that person, or comparing me to this group or that group. I’m not interested. I know who I am, I know what I stand for, and my feet are firmly on the ground. That’s the beginning and the end of it.
So please don’t come here acting like you can give me orders. Don’t show up telling me what I ‘must’ do, what we ‘shouldn’t’ do, or what ‘we’ should change. Because here’s the thing, there is no we. You and I are not a group. This is not a collective effort. This is my blog. You don’t get to tell me what to do, just like I don’t get to tell you how to run your space.
All I’m asking, really, is very simple: respect my blog, respect my decisions. That’s all. Nothing more, nothing less.
