Wrapped up in a large sweater, Victoire gripped her mug of hot chocolate, leaning against the doorway as she watched the beginning of Christmas unfold in the living room of the Burrow. She felt very awkward, being the only sixteen year old in the room amongst her cousins and siblings a few years younger. She bit her lip and turned on her heel, stiffly walking out to stand in the garden.
It wasn't the greatest of ideas, standing out in the snow with only a sweater and leggings and socks for shoes - but it was a good idea as any. The cold did get unbearable after a few minutes and she walked back inside, eyes downcast as she held her finished mug. A scraping sound caught her attention and Victoire turned to see Teddy. They never talked too much, maybe exchanging the occasional obligatory 'hellos' at every holiday but otherwise they were practically strangers.
"Teddy - hi. I didn't think you were going to come this year. What with your new 'mates' or something."
