Little preview of the next chapter.
On a whim and because hyperfixation go brrr, I drew the Federation Representative squad sent to NA-22.
You can definitely tell who I put the most effort into lmao
(Drawings not to scale, aside from Cherne Deferne Werne and G-Biv. Bubble is smaller, Elana and Cherne Deferne Werne are the same height, and Ezeds towers over everyone, G-Biv included.)

Chapter 2 of Metroid Silence is up! I'm frankly surprised I managed to get this done so soon after the first one, especially with it being double the length.
Samus ventures through the dark, and meets some odd acquaintances.
Made more progress on Metroid: Silence yesterday, finally.
If I have to give Tanabe some credit, it's that writing good scanlogs is hard. So like, as annoyed as I still am on behalf of the writer whose work he admitted to overriding in Prime 4, I can't be too harsh on him for his own work turning out eh. Especially if he was trying to do them on a deadline I'm thankfully free of, and while managing who knows what else for the game's overall production and maybe other games too.
I still insist that giving better feedback and letting the actual writer do the actual writing, still would have been the best approach, but like, for something he took on himself at the last second, it all could have turned out worse, I guess is what I'm trying to say.
The GE lore is really interesting (despite the naming convention being a bit weak) but also very funny to me given some of the stuff I had planned with my own Metroid fic, and I kinda wonder if I should adjust my own plans a tad to tie in with that.
Whenever I see art of Samus getting shipped with Peach or Zelda, I'm kinda torn. On one hand, it is genuinely cute. On the other hand, I always feel a little bit annoyed that she's stuck with crossover ships by default instead of anyone from her own actual series.
On the other other hand, that annoyance then makes me feel guilty for both being kinda ungrateful for the cuteness, and feeling a little bit like a gatekeepy asshole toward Smash-only people. (But it sure is easy to tell apart Samus fanworks based in Smash from Samus fanworks based in the actual series, regardless of the presence or lack of crossover stuff.) Plus in fairness, the only viable girlfriend candidates at present are either Gandrayda or maaaybe Madeline Bergman, and for various reasons, both are pretty easily-overlookable characters even within the fandom, let alone outside it.
But then on the other other other hand, there is a wiki, and people can just look it up...
Anyway, this is why Retro or Mercurysteam just needs to give Samus a canonical girlfriend, so we don't have to rely on crossover stuff. The more weird and alien she is, too, the better.
Memey lines that would actually make sense in the context of my Metroid fic, if only they weren't atrociously out of character.
"Screw the rules, I have green hair!" (From yugioh abridged. In Silence I'm making the Justin Bailey look happen, as a side-effect of the Metroid infusion.)
"You are an emotional tar pit." (From tumblr, Samus to everyone's beloathed mission control computer, for obvious reasons.)
"Nothing personell kid." (From final fantasy 7, I think? Zyrrha doing what she does best.)
