The fact that Dabi and Hawks are meant to be mirrors of each other, yet both have plenty of haters is amusing.

I found both relatable in their own ways and hated them for many reasons.

I get Touya's jealousy of his sibling, and how he wants to be perfect for his parents. But I can't stand the way he was so rude to his siblings and tried to murder him (but he always did come across as a child with neurodivergence from the way he acted. Also he stims, I'm not crazy, he fucking stims, all the time).

I get Hawks for putting on this mask of a perfect hero and then truly being something hollow underneath. But I hate his backstory, I think there's a controversy there (am NOT opening that can of worms) but also, we get it, sob story. Boo-hoo, crocodile tears or whatever. Him being chosen so young was something I liked, but I wish his backstory had been more about escaping poverty to end up in a system than "my parents were shitty."
