Hi guys! So I just wanted to share something that I think would be helpful for any of your followers who are coming to terms with their sexualities. There's a singer called Chely Wright, she's a country singer and she's a lesbian. She wrote a book (called Like Me) and there's a documentary about her (called Wish Me Away). She's still really active in he LGBT community and is an all around awesome person, and a great singer. Hearing her story saved my life and I hope it can help others too :)

What do you do when you've lost yourself and you're doing everything to try and find you again but nothing is working, nothing is good enough, life isn't good enough

Hey darling,This sounds like it is really hard to be dealing with. Have you talked to anyone about the way you are feeling? I'm not even just talking about a professional, but anyone in general. Talking to someone you trust can be a great first step. You can call a hotline, chat with a web counsellor, contact us through our social media, and also you can try out our very own live chat. We also have venting groups which are are sort of like online, weekly venting groups. You can check them out here. I know how hard this can be. I went through a very similar time in my life, but you must know that this will pass.  Can you try finding something that you enjoy doing? Think of hobbies that you enjoy doing or have in the past. Also you can look into getting into stuff that you have been meaning to get into. It may be a good idea to get professional help as well. You can check out our page on getting help here. I'm having a lot of trouble recently with my dad being accusational. I'm pretty sure he thinks I'm gay and he went as far as to ask me if I had let my friend feel me up. I'm asexual so this is all really uncomfortable for me and assures me that coming out to him would not go well. I'm really frustrated about it. He keeps making comments and teasing me about all these little things that make me different. Like my short hair, or that I don't like to shave, or that I'm vegan. He'll pick at anything

This sounds like it is really hard for you to be dealing with.  It sounds like your father is really concerned with the fact that you may not be what he imagined or wanted you to be.  All parents have images of what they would like their kids to be like when they are older even if they do not realize it however when kids do not turn out like that all parents react differently.  It sounds like the fact that you are these things he never imagined you to be (hence everything he is really nitpicky about) are hard for him to accept.  However that does not excuse his actions and even though it may be hard for him to accept this he shouldn’t behave this way towards you. Do you think you could try addressing your concerns with your father?  You can write a note or just sit down with him. Do only what you feel comfortable doing though.  Also remember that you are not doing anything wrong and it is 100% okay to be the way you are and the issue is the way your father is reacting to this.

It may be a good idea for you two to enter some sort of therapy together where you two can work on his reactions and how he is accepting what is going on.  In therapy he can also work realize how his comments are impacting you and together boundaries can be set up to avoid invasive questions are judgemental comments.  You both can also build a more trusting relationship where you can eventually feel able to come out to him.You can check out our page on getting help here.  However I totally get not being able to get into a situation where you can get therapy with him.  Still if you can find some way to talk to him or make him realize that what he is saying and doing is harmful to you.  If you want you can check out our gender and sexuality page here.  You do what you feel comfortable doing and feel safe doing.  If you need to talk more you can always contact us on our social media, call a hotline, chat with a web counsellor, or even try out our very own live chat system.  I really hope this all helps.  Feel free to message us any time.  Best of wishes!!!!!!!
