BREAKING: MPD TO FUND PROFESSOR’S FUNERAL

Over two weeks since Myeongcho University was rocked by the murder of beloved Professor Bae of Natural Sciences, the MPD have spoken up on their findings and, better yet, their subsequent arrest. 

In a small press conference, MPD’s Detective Song Hajoon reveals the killer to have been a former Hydrus member, who, in believing he would be covering his tracks, killed the man he betrayed his gang to. After details of one of his hits reached another Hydrus member, the killer felt he could only save himself by ‘shooting the messenger’. Believing he had little left to live for, the killer also gave MPD the alias of the Hydrus member and MPD are reportedly making every effort to connect the name to a real identity. When asked about the graphic nature of his murder, the killer, with no remorse, only stated he ‘wanted to be sure he was done’. 

MPD also stated they are supporting the victim’s family, students and the university as a whole as they grieve and cope with the news and investigation. Chief Choi Jiwoo will personally be paying for both a private funeral and public memorial for Professor Bae, as well as attending both to pay her respects.

BREAKING: UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR FOUND DEAD ON ROOF

After reports of a pungent smell around a small bar in Yeongi, a body found on the rooftop has been identified as Myeongcho University professor of Biology, Lee Hajoon. 

MPD investigations confirm nothing out of the ordinary in the man’s routine, suggesting the attack had been random. Lee had been shot repeatedly and died from the wounds. Currently, the MPD aren’t following any leads and his son, student Lee Sejoon has denied to comment, though has reportedly been cooperating with investigations. 

Despite police reports, speculations have arisen that the hit had been gang related as a customer from the night, who wishes to remain anonymous, told MYC, “something weird was going on. There was this guy impersonating one of the waiters or something and they kept arguing. Seemed serious, but I don’t want to get involved. Gangs ‘round here are dangerous.” The MPD also declined to comment on this information.

BREAKING: COSMETICS CEO MURDERER WALKS FREE?

Despite strong evidence, CEO Ahn Taewoon of a Myeongcho-based distribution company has been cleared of all suspicion over the death of friend and fellow CEO, Park Hyunmin. 

Park, CEO of a small-time cosmetics company also based on the island, was murdered at the end of July. After a month of dead-end leads, the MPD earlier this week reported that they’d made a breakthrough in investigations that lead to CEO Ahn. MPD now state that CEO Ahn cooperated well and conclude that his involvement is as reported at the time of his death. He claims that the CCTV discovered on a dark web forum of him and the victim being seen together long after he originally stated is manipulated and actually from an earlier time in the day. MPD coordinated with the surveillance company and golf course to confirm this. 

CEO Ahn’s company has skyrocketed in value since the reveal of his innocence and his name has returned to the top ten trending topics, however, with now largely positive articles. 

The original anonymous poster returned to the forum yesterday to once again claim foul play, but the MPD insist they will take action against the poster for obstructing an investigation. It seems MPD are no closer to finding the truth for CEO Park’s family, who have been peacefully protesting outside the precinct since they learnt of CEO Ahn’s freedom.

BREAKING: JEWEL STILL MISSING, MPD BREAK SILENCE

Following the awards ceremony over a week ago, the MPD have released a statement regarding the mysterious interruption mid-celebration. 

During the party held at Museum of Myeongcho, the alarm was sounded for roughly one minute before the celebrations resumed. Quickly, the MPD reassured guests that the signal had been a false alarm, however, a new statement tells another story. 

“At first, we believed the alarm to be a mistake of the museum’s security system. However, following a discussion with the staff on duty at the event, it seems a ring was discovered missing. We continued the event as not to worry guests and began our investigation immediately. Now, we can confirm that fingerprints of members two gangs were found at the scene and we are following a strong lead to find the missing ruby ring.” 

Sources suggest the two gangs involved are rivals Hydrus and Phoenix. It has been over two months since Lynx revealed Hydrus’ second-in-command to be a traitor to the latter and the serpents’ subsequent riots tore apart the city.

BREAKING: MPD LIEUTENANT’S DAUGHTER DIES IN MYSTERIOUS AQUARIA INCIDENT 

Yoo Hyeri, daughter of esteemed MPD Lieutenant Yoo Sihyun, has died under mysterious circumstances. 

Whilst working at Aquaria this morning, the 20-year-old reportedly fell ill and collapsed. Staff at the aquarium soon found her slumped into a piranha tank. It’s believed she had already passed when she was discovered. The cause of her death has not been revealed and in a brief, vague statement, the MPD insisted they are working closely with Aquaria to determine the truth behind this mysterious case. When interviewed, visitors revealed that it was a foul smell that alerted staff to Yoo’s whereabouts, saying it was “unlike anything else” and “unbearably strong”. Any further witnesses are being urged to come forwards. 

Though Aquaria remains open for business, a handful of exhibits are closed for the investigation. Ticket prices have not been reduced to reflect this. Lieutenant Yoo and his wife, Kim Jiyeon, have asked for privacy at this difficult time.

BREAKING: MASSACRE AT LOCAL TECH COMPANY, CEO MISSING

In the early hours of this morning, Myeongcho Police Department attended and cordoned off a tech-startup in the business district of Yeongi City after reports of gunshots. !n5pired, founded only last year by CEO Kang Doyoon, had only thirty-five staff and it’s believed that at least thirty were present at the time of what many are calling a brutal massacre. It’s believed that the body count is currently 28, however, MPD have refused to confirm nor deny these claims. 

Kim Juyeon, 34, works in the offices opposite !n5pired and says she called the police after hearing ‘loud, unidentifiable bangs’ from the building. “I just heard these loud noises and it sounded like fireworks, but I looked out the window and I couldn’t see any and nothing looked out of the ordinary but... I know this city, I know what sort of things go on behind the scenes here.” She says in an exclusive interview at the crime scene. A screenshot of her from the television report, wherein the same information is given, is inserted into the article. “I called the police and explained to them that I wasn’t sure what was happening but it sounded bad and they said they would come out and I was giving them the address when I heard windows smashing across the road. It was terrifying— That could’ve been this building, you know?” 

Currently, the MPD appear to have no suspects, however, CEO Kang Doyoon has mysteriously disappeared and survivors of the attack say they have not seen nor heard from him since before the events of last night. MPD are calling for any witnesses to come forward as soon as possible, and for relatives and friends of any !n5pired employees to get in touch to identify victims.

BREAKING: TWELVE MISSING WOMEN FOUND IN OLD BUILDING OUTSIDE YEONGI

Overnight, it’s said Myeongcho Police Department rescued twelve young women before any of them were even reported missing. Fast actions of the MPD secured the lives of the women, all aged between 20 and 25, who were found hidden in an old building on the outskirts of the forestry around Yeongi City. All twelve are now receiving medical treatment at Myeongcho Hospital. It’s said one officer is also receiving treatment. 

An anonymous source passed the information onto them late that night, the MPD reports in a brief written statement. After a short investigation, MPD stormed the location and found twelve women and are now looking into reuniting them with their families. Their identities will not be revealed by officials and no victim was willing to comment on the case when visited. One MPD officer was reportedly shot on site by one of their captors and is due to make a speedy recovery. He also declined to comment. It’s not known at this time who was responsible for the kidnapping, however, the MPD reassure they are handling the investigation diligently and will bring justice for those affected.

BREAKING: STREET RACE WRECKAGE, TWO DEAD

In the early hours of the morning, MPD were called to scenes in Yeongi alongside other emergency services along a famous street racing track. MPD say they were aware prior that the roads in question are known for late night races and claim they are working behind the scenes to stop these dangerous drivers from taking to the island’s roads. 

Towards the beginning of the track, a first vehicle was found still burning inside. The driver has not been identified, nor a time of death confirmed. It’s also not known whether the fire itself was the cause of death. Further along, a second vehicle was discovered plunged into the front of a shop building. The driver again has not been identified, nor whether the impact is the cause of death. It is known, however, that no other civilians were harmed in the crash. 

MPD say they are working closely with witnesses to piece together the night and will be contacting loved ones once the victims have been identified. They urge any further witnesses to get in touch as soon as possible.
