1. what was your favourite part of your day (so far)?
hmm, today I've enjoyed getting my photos developed and playing guitar very loudly and very badly.
2. have you ever been in love?
I love a lot of things and I love ppl but i don't think I've ever been "in love"
3. do you feel a disconnect between your online self and your irl self?
Absolutely like if u knew me IRL i doubt you'd want to talk to me! but at the same time i guess my weirdness probably translates pretty strongly online as well so yeah idk.
4. what would you like to change about your personality?
Oh wow this is heavy umm apart from absolutely everything mb just my general anti-socialness, anxiety, annoyingness etc
5. do you feel like you are having/have had the quintessential teenage experience?
this is a rly gd question!! i think about this all the time, more recently now that i am in my last real year of teenagerdom (is that a word??) If the quintessential teenage experience is going out to parties and getting drunk and high and having boyfriends and just being overall reckless then sadly no, I haven't (yet) had this experience. However, at the same time I don't believe that there is only one version of the "quintessential teenage experience" and that everyone experiences their teenage years differently just like everyone experiences life differently. I went to a party recently which was a very stereotypically "teen" experience but i just found myself feeling mostly uncomfortable and rather detached from that whole culture. I've found the times that I've felt most teen have been when i've been by myself redecorating my room or crying to pretty records or sitting alone in a parking lot, so yeah while i often worry I've wasted my teen years by not being a proper teen I have created my own teenage experiences that mean much more to me. wow this went much longer than it was suppose to and I'm not sure if it made sense.
6. how do you think today’s teens compare with generations past and what does this mean for the future?
eeek prepare for another rambly answer. i also think about this a lot and while I'm sure every generation before us said this, i do believe we are the last generation to have experienced certain things before everyone was using flashy technology and things like social media. I think todays teens are actually smarter than past teens, because of things like social media and just the level of the access to information that teens hav today. But then again there is always going to be ignorant people so that is one thing that will never change. I think the universal feeling of going through adolescence hasn't changed much either and I think ppl are moving away from the stereotypical image of teenagers as some kind of alien species and instead perceiving them as just (slightly more emotional) people trying to figure out their sense of identity in life. I often worry about the future generations and the effect that technology and social media will have on the way they develop but i also think while a lot of things change the important things stay the same so I'm not worrying too much (yet).
7. if you could be in any movie (as a character, or just as a random offscreen person) which would it be?
this is rly hard umm I often wish i was Enid from ghost world just so i could jump on a random bus and never be seen again.. Audrey Horne mb, Wanda from cry baby, or no wait i want to be rachael mcaddams character in the notebook so i can be with ryan gosling forever.
8. what’s your weirdest interest?
idk i love lots of weird stuff.. i rly love old medical charts?? is that weird??
lol my pyjamas which consist of an oversised tee shirt and my grandmothers cardigan.
10. what are your plans for new years?
I hav no idea yet, hopefully catching up with friends?
11. how has tumblr changed you/affected your life?
hmm while it has taken away a lot of my time (lol what is homework) tumblr has been amazing on informing me on stuff about music, film, literature, art, feminism and pretty much most things so I'm forever thankful for it even tho i sometimes hate it.
