“...what the hell happened here?!”he asked, gesturing towards her arm and the blood on her. He had no idea, and he needed answers. Now.

“I can’t let you sleep on the floor. Especially not with your hip. Here, get in bed with me.”

She nodded, no longer putting up much of a fight. Thanks to an error the room they had booked had a single bed instead of two doubles and she had tried to do the right thing but dammit her hip was killing her. “Alright, but if I get too cuddly, just push me off.” She sighed, getting up and into bed, wincing the whole time.

She hated how visible the blush was, the lack of any kind of natural living pigment in her skin making it so any color made her looked like a damn lobster. “That’s a little impossible.. but thank you.” she said, trying not to grimace at the way her tone gave away the flutter in her chest.

“Hey, you're safe, you’re safe,” she repeated, tears threatening to spill over her eyes. “We’re in an old warehouse, we were chasing a suspect, don't you remember?”
