Thanks to one of my best friends, I have found a great amount of love and respect for a man named Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain. He is known as the hero of Little Round Top and received the medal of honor for his bravery there. If you have an interest in American history, please look him up!! His story is featured in the movie Gettysburg and the book that preceded it, The Killer Angels by Michael Shaara.

The setting in this drawing is a bit ambiguous, but I just wanted to draw him reading a letter from his wife Fanny while with his horse, Charlemagne. Charlemagne's story is very interesting too!! If you like horses at all I recommend you look it up too!! Actually just look up all the Chamberlains, they were all very interesting!!

Jeff Shaara is the Benjamin Harrison of historical fiction.

Think about it, his dad, Michael Shaara wrote one historical fiction book and then died. Jeff Shaara then became a historical fiction writer himself and has written far more historical fiction books.
