[closed] Set Fire To The Broken Pieces; start anew | Luke & Michael
Travelling was something Luke was comfortable with doing and it was something had experienced many times in his life especially when he was younger, moving between seemingly perfect foster families which provided a temporary shelter and some comfort but the fear that he would have it taken from him and the fact that the death of his parents had left a void inside of him that couldn’t be filled, that sense of warmth, love, safety and security was ripped away leaving him alone..No one understood and those that pretended to – he knew they felt nothing but pity and sympathy for him, and he hated that. They knew nothing, no one truly took the time to understand him and those that did, those who took the role of his parents were something he wasn’t meant to have, he didn’t deserve them and so.. they were gotten rid off, cast aside like empty dead husks.
And it was the longest time that he had only himself he was of course very gifted and talented though in playing the part of someone broken, a fragile being who you would sympathise and want to help and he knew that he would need to keep that ruse up, so that he could be left to his own devices and seen by the state that he was capable and although they kept an eye on him for a short while, once they were confident he was well they let him be..and he managed to find his place of course and grew increasingly aware over the years that his genetics were also something he could use, and it was perhaps one of the main reasons why his foster families seemed to fall apart..but every one of them were broken, just like he was..
A sound though pulled him from his thoughts and be blinked a few times his eye’s adjusting quickly to the fact there wasn’t too much light in this room and it took him a moment to remember where he was, the decor around them was regal and impressive as was the architecture of the palace, but then again the city itself outside of the castle looked magnificent also in its own right – picture perfect and the epitome of peace and calm. He hadn’t really looked too much into this place he and Michael were now in and he was sure that there were reasons behind it – but it did strike him a little strange, they had lived for so long away from the masses that for the older vampire to seek out a place such as this was a little strange, but perhaps it was time the other felt for a change, he wouldn’t question Michael's decisions though – Michael had never made any bad choices and although it had taken him some time to see that and a movement in the corner of his made him turn and he smiled at the strong, comforting figure of Michael who was nearby and taking a break from sorting through the final few items of their belongings.
It was the other who had stumbled onto him and their meeting was perhaps by fate or just the luck of the draw either way it had been a rather interesting one and he smiled wistfully at the fact that the other admired his skills, in creating beautiful masterpieces – triggered by various emotions and memories which occasionally surfaced, as well as that voice inside of him that supported and helped with all of those endeavors. You’ve been staring at him for some time..it’s been a while hasn’t it. You haven’t spent much time together since you moved here – ask it of him..
“Michael...we’ve spent perhaps a bit too long sorting out everything since our arrival. We haven’t had any time together..unless perhaps I should leave you here and explore our new environment, I can’t really feel comfortable until I know every inch of the place...” he said trailing off and suddenly feeling a little excited at the prospect of exploring and scouting out their new home. That was what it was now home..such an strange word – considering that it really wasn’t, not unless Michael was their beside him..
