jiwoo was raised by their single mother who'd tried incredibly hard to get pregnant with their father until her wish was finally granted. before they were even born, their father decided he didn't want to stay in the picture, so it was just the two of them which was cause for many rumors.
when they were young, their mother dressed them up in a variety of outfits including dresses much to their enjoyment. they were often mistaken for a little girl by the aunties around the neighborhood which made them even happier.
however, once they started going to school, the dresses were put away and eventually given away once they outgrew them. it was devastating to jiwoo and a cause for them to grow upset towards themself for feeling that way.
during high school, jiwoo met the love of their life: kana, a transfer student from japan. she's the one who allowed them to accept themselves while also setting them up for failure in the long run when it came to relationships.
she was the only person who would probably be willing to accept them, flaws and all, and the only one who could love them properly in their eyes. she was alright with their physical body and how it occasionally didn't entirely match how they felt on the inside.
she was the one who taught them everything she knew about makeup and how to dress fashionably. she also taught them all about "proper" behavior in order to control them, but that was just how all relationships were. right?
eventually, kana moved away again because of her dad's job and jiwoo was left alone as a completely different person than before. broken and confused.
after graduation, jiwoo decided they weren't cut out for any other line of work other than sex work. they would apply everything kana taught them and use it to their advantage.

first of all, what is a communicator you ask? a communicator is someone who reaches out to other gangs to discuss alliances, wars, territorial ownership, trades, etc.– a liaison. they are usually involved closely with the leaders and almost always present in the planning of territorial wars and raids, but is often absent on any battlefield.
the gang is the biggest and oldest in china, and it’s members are mostly from the republic of china, although there is some others from other countries as the gang will accept anyone talented/useful
zhihao became friends with someone when he was around 15, what he didn’t know was that they were the ‘heir’ to gang. he found out about it a year later but instead of not being friends anymore, he joined the gang at 16
he started as someone who did little small work for everyone (they normally wouldn’t have accepted him besides the fact he could’ve invaded places well as no one would suspect a child but zhihao’s friend didn’t want him to be in dangerous situations)
he climbed up the ladder year after year until when he was 20, the leader of the gang got shot and died and so, zhihao’s friend became the leader. zhihao became one of his official bodyguard but his new position was of communicator. zhihao had always been charming and good at talking so his friend knew he’d do a good job
he came to the resort to try to make diplomatic ties with the gangs he knew surrounded it, get some info, etc
because he’s separated from his best friend, he is quite anxious (he doesn’t really show it but he keeps being worried lmao) so you can imagine how loyal he is to the leader & the gang
more personality wise, he’s really sadistic so watch out innocent ones
he’s a bit forgetful when it concerns his own well being, that’s why his friend hadn’t let him stay in his own place but instead in the hotel (my boy can’t clean or make food :’) no survival skills on that part)
he’s quite amusing for people that are similar to him, he likes joking around when he gets comfortable enough
he can be intimidating when he wants to but he much prefers threatening people with a bright smile

hi, i’m mark. i’ve been looking for a tumblr rp to join for a while and this seemed right up my alley so...here have my son. he’s...heavily influenced off of a webcomic character that i’ve been reading, but i won’t disclose what it is (even tho a simple look will reveal you the manhwa lol) have some info for him under the cut.
yohan was a special ed. teacher back in seoul for a few years. he was kind, helpful, intelligent, the whole package. however, an incident with a stray gang member from michigo (that he wasn’t aware of at the time) left him deaf. he could still teach, but he decided to not speak as often, instead electing to use a pad of paper and a pen to write out his thoughts.
he finds it odd to speak without hearing his voice, but if someone doesn’t know sign language, he’ll speak to them. he can read lips extremely well.
however, if someone that’s close to him takes the time to learn sign language, he appreciates it so much.
as to how he ended up in michigo, he ended up following his best friend park soomi to the resort on her recommendation, not knowing that because of their gangs he had an injury that could really never be healed.
however, he found the town charming at first glance. he figured for the summer he could stay and get a part time job, perhaps.
currently, he’s working at the black flower cafe as a patissier- hes always had a bit of a talent for making sweets, he would make them for his classes before so it’s just...more experience for him here.
however, he is more than a bit interested in the more...explicit things he’s heard going on.
