Microblading brows, yeh or neh?
So I got my eyebrows microbladed about 2 weeks ago. If you are planning to make any booking to get your brows done this way, you might find this post quite helpful as this is my own experience doing this. I will go through the process of it and my recommendation to you lot.
I got mine done earlier this month and had to go all the way to Chiswick which is on the outskirts of London. My bestie found this brow studio via instagram and she actually got her brows done before mine. You can see all the brows work of the technician on her instagram (@browsophistication).
So I was told that if you have oily skin, thin skin or diagnosed with any diseases involving blood thinning, getting your brows microbladed is not an ideal thing to do. Why? The oil that your skin produces naturally will make the ink used to microblade your brows faded very easily. A typical duration of how long microbladed eyebrows remains ‘pretty’ before they fade away is roughly 6 months to 2 years, depending on the way you maintain them. If you have oily skin, this time length will be expected to be much shorter. So is it really worth it to get your brows done this way and they cant last very long? It’s your choice, but not really from my point of view. In addition, if you have thin skin or are easy to bleed (blood thinning), the whole process might be too much for you as that means you might lose a lot of blood throughout the whole process and it might too painful for you (sorry to scare you girls but it’s true).
On the day of my appointment, I arrived to the studio and the girl who is the brows technician was very nice and greeted me in. She talked through the process of it and said the feeling of getting your brows done might not be the “most comfortable feeling the world” but certainly not the worst, which is bearable. Then I had to fill some forms regarding to my health, my skin type, allergy test and should I bear in mind that this service is non-refundable. After signing and ticking all the relevant parts on the forms, it then was time to get my brows done yay!!
She firstly drew the outline of my brows which show how they would look like after being microbladed. They were fine by me so let’s get it started. Okay, I thought it would be very pleasant feeling when microblading but it is certainly not, it was okay for the first 10 minutes but the it started to feel very uncomfortable and the technician kept reminding me not to jump. It’s not the technician causing the uncomfortability, it’s the microblading process itself so please bear in mind with this. If you ever got tattooed in somewhat sensitive areas (like near your hips, boobs or your neck), this will much be equivalent to that feeling. I even cried a bit during it. From the scale of 1-5, I would give it a 3. However, this is my own personal score and it really depends on each individual pain threshold. I asked my friend about the process and she said she nearly slept during the process. I was like “what the hell hahaha”. But yeah, it took around 30 minutes to get my brows done and voila, the new brows are very nice and I felt like a different person. Girls, it might have been a bit painful but it was worth it :) I got a lot of compliments after getting my brows done so I am a happy girl.
So if you were gonna ask me if you should get your brows microbladed? I would say yes, of course if you have the right skin type and be able to going through the whole process. If you can’t really handle the pain of getting tattooed on your arms or legs, you can still do this but you might feel it would take forever during your appointment. Oh, and there’s one thing that you should do when your technician outlines your new brows. This is based on my friends’ experience. Make sure that you are happy with the outline because some might want your brows flatter or more curvy, let your technician know about your preference or you might end up not be happy with your new brows.
Hope you girls find this helpful <3
