Forms of Digital Mutual Aid
Developing a lot of thoughts on the patterns of conglomerate social media and the ways that social media as a community tool can be stripped from the most vulnerable, especially in ways that harm the most marginalized in our communities materially, I think it's important to consider what we can do to provide mutual aid and retain people's connections to others while relying less on platforms like Tumblr, Twitter, etc. I especially think it's cruel to expect everyone on the web to have the resources, knowledge, time, energy and ability to be their own web developer, but this is exactly where mutual aid as a tool comes in. Between the large swath of public access resources and information bases, working together to establish safe and reliable web networks for the people you love, where their joy is paramount and the engagement they have is on their terms, that is what people who have been ran off this site through bigotry and "policy" deserve. This is just a smaller post, but I want to keep developing resources and helping people retain digital presences and community beyond the cruelty of sites like this. Read the full article
I have a crush on life itself
9. Friable
"You're such a pretty little thing, did you know that?" Her voice was soft as she worked, the fork gently working at the soil around the base of the mushroom. She knew it couldn't understand her, but the rainbow-hued mushroom was alive. So it deserved attention and care in her book. And it had been a gift, so she wanted to do her best to make sure her new fungal friend thrived.
"The book I got from the shop said that your soil should be well fertilized and... friable." She wiggled the fork a bit more, continuing to loosen the sod around it. "I was able to ask Clover about that word; apparently it means easy to crumble away, or in the case of soil, loose enough for any new sprouts or shoots to push through. That way, in case you make any new little friends, they can make their way out easier. The fertilizer is to help keep you healthy...I had to ask Fenris what would be best to add."
She didn't expect a response. She never did. But talking it out helped make her room feel less lonely, talking to her plants. Her mushroom. The fish. Her dog. Her new little mammet friend. It helped break up the silence that blanketed the room, hanging in the air amongst the dust motes.
Don't give up
just played my first house show!!!!!!! it was such a vibe!
it was also the first time i played the drums w a band!! i started learning last july, and im honestly so proud of myself for being able to do this in such a short time span. especially since my practice regiment is sporatic at best. i got asked to do this 4 days ago, and i learned 5 songs. holy shit. this is Ticket's brain on 100% power.
i was rushing at some points and i missed some fills, but i think these are things only i would notice. i do wanna work on my fills (the toms scare me)
all in all it was such a joy and pleasure to play witj with such amazing musicians and i cant wait to do it again :3
