What is your big project?
It's a magisterium au that replaces most of the fourth book and all of the fifth book! I'm not sure what to call it yet. I'm also planning on replacing/editing/adding scenes in the earlier books, but I'm not quite certain how I'm going to go about that yet.

Bear family 🥰 (mom+four cubs) (we saw a different mom with three larger cubs earlier this week. This brings the bears sighted count up to 15, at least 10 of which are unique)
You're either born with magic or you aren't. That's it. If both of your parents are wizards and you don't have magic, you don't have magic. Staves, tomes, and wands do not contain magic, all they do is allow an outlet to help magic users control their magic. However!! As a magic user uses their preferred conduit, they leave traces of their magic in the relic. Normally, these traces are negligible, and they disapate after a while, but if a relic is used consistently over the course of decades, the accumulated magic is enough for even the least magical creature to cast spells with. The more well-used an artifact is, the longer the magic it contains lasts.
One thing to consider is that when you pull from the magical reservoir of a relic rather than using your own magic is that every time you pull from it, the reservoir gets smaller and smaller, and eventually all of the magic will disapate.
Relics with magical reservoirs are especially useful for amateur magic users, as the older magic helps to guide and shape the newer magic, allowing beginners to cast powerful and complicated spells.
There are two main classes of powerful wizards, those who choose to only use one relic as to pass on their magic and guidance to the next generation (there is a belief that magic is tied to your soul, so doing this is a way of ensuring that their memory lives on), and those who choose to use varied relics to prevent enemies from getting their hands on their magic.
Often throughout history, you will see a famous line of wizards who passed down a relic through a chain of mentors and apprentices. Doing this not only prevents the reservoir from depleting, it also causes the reservoir to grow with each user. Anyone, naturally magical or not, could easily become one of the most powerful wizards on the planet with one of these relics.
Btw contact for the tags on my last reblog, yesterday I had a friend over and while we were hanging out, my cat was there too. At one point, I petted her, and then she grabbed my arm and attacked it using her claws, back feet, and teeth. This was entirely unprovoked and she rarely does this, but I think my friend was really concerned. I think she did it just because she needed some more enrichment (I threw paperclips for her!) but also like. In front of guests?? Yeah. Anyways.
The following is an idea, and not something I intend to write.
Premise: Spider-Man Hamlet AU. When Harry's father dies, he suspects foul play. His suspicions seem to be confirmed when his old friend, Peter Parker, comes out of nowhere to take control of his father's business.
Characters:
Harry: Hamlet
Peter: Claudius
Norman: Dead Hamlet
The company/board of directors: Gertrude
Gwen: Ophelia/Guildenstern/Laertes
MJ: Horatio/Rosencrantz
Plot points:
Norman dies in a fight with Spider-Man. In his will, he stated that his business should be left to Peter alone. Harry got the penthouse and stuff but he had been working towards taking over Oscorp his whole life so this hurts, and it's the first thing that leads him to become suspicious of Peter.
The fight was basically the fight from the Sam Raimi movies. Peter blames himself. Also, Harry was at college when the fight happened.
The board of directors decide to have Peter's first press conference and CEO/owner induction the day after the funeral. This looks bad to Harry.
Peter keeps trying to talk to Harry but things keep interrupting him and he is never able to tell Harry what's going on.
Harry feigns a deep depression with dissociative episodes (he read about it on the internet) in order to explain why he is in rooms that he shouldn't be in while he is searching for answers
He talks to MJ and Gwen about his discoveries, but discovers that they're also talking to Peter. He starts to push everyone away in his search for answers (and revenge!). He determines that Peter must have hired Spider-Man to kill his father in order to inherit the company. This is untrue.
He confronts Peter, and they fight, killing Police Captain Stacy in the process.
Gwen is not sure who to blame but she is seeking revenge now too.
There is no suicide. MJ gets fed up with the drama (it's hurting her career and people keep lying to her and it hurts to go behind her friends' backs) so she leaves to pursue her career.
Gwen blames Harry for MJ leaving because Harry is the main source of conflict.
Et cetera, we know about Hamlet. But wouldn't this be cool?
