I honestly think Marvel has done psychic damage to an entire generation. Now, if women aren’t personally taking charge and inventing machines that one shot villains and degrading the men around them, then people view a story as anti-feminist. This has been apparent in the reviews of FFXVI, where all female characters are viewed as one-dimensional. Ignoring that 

Jill: Trauma survivor, Dominant, warrior, got her revenge, good friend, learned to love and be loved, made her own choices. 

Mid: Engineer, head strong, possibly the smartest human in the game, opinionated, deeply hurt and insecure, wants to prove herself, wants to support her friends and society,

Eloise: Supporter of bearers, left her family to support her brother, amazing business woman, knowledge of accounts, happy with the life she has even if she could have a more comfortable one, continued her mission even after tragedy.

I can see some of these criticisms of Anabella and Benedikta being true, but the story does really flesh them out and explains why they do what they do, and it’s not because they’re crazy. Anabella did everything because she thought it would end the Blight - and secure her power. While Benedikta is a trauma survivor who never learnt to how to heal; essentially a dark Jill or Mid.
