But, genius songwriter, Patrice Rushen gets the claim to fame for this timeless track. Her 1982 hit album, “Straight from the Heart” would be her most successful album to date… Including two Grammy nominations, a few Billboard chart toppers and umpteen covers and samples. Her catalog is extensive. It spans 14 albums and a multitude of hits from her early Jazz pieces to her more uptempo, dance tracks. “You’re Sorry Now” ~ Zhané #FBF… From their 1994 debut album, “Pronounced Jay-Nay.” The Temple University, R&B duo, Renée Neufville and Jean Norris, would find their home amongst legends of the hip-hop collective, Native Tongues. In fact, most of the songs on the album were produced by co-crew members, Naughty by Nature. Providing that needed soulful flavor gave their tracks a true hip-hop edge. Other singles such as, “Hey Mr. DJ”, “Vibe”, “Sending My Love” and “Groove Thing” would also fair well with the R&B community earning the ladies a much deserved platinum plaque. Despite their eventual breakup, Zhané songs continue in light rotation today proving this album to be a timeless classic… #ooohhh #thatsmyjam #abcfbf 🎶📻 💿
