Do you know what I would do if it weren't extremely risky since they never worked like that? I would put Casey Krueger on the backline as FB and Crystal Dunn as support on the midfield, remaining a defensive support but giving her also more freedom to push herself on the wing without being afraid of leaving her position empty. I would play her as Thorns are doing.

And with Lloyd who plays WELL as 10 - she doesn't stay still waiting for the ball but works as pivot and helps building the play - it would give midfield much more movement and it wouldn't force Tobin to leave her position on a regular base.
