Midge thinking that her and Lenny are gonna have a cute little private celebration on the stage of Carnegie Hall after his set,
Lenny:
I'm begging on my knees with all the extra pleases for one (heck, all!) of the many talented writers out there to write more outsider POVs on Midge and Lenny’s relationship. I want to know what the women at the strip club think of them. Or Boise. Or even Lenny’s friends that he always drags along to her shows. Maybe Joel, Susie, Abe, Rose and the rest of the clan when they see Midge and Lenny together. I’ll take it all!
OH GOD IMAGINE
Last scene of season 5: midge’s face as she’s doing a set. We pan out. She’s wearing a wedding dress. The camera turns. Lenny is looking at her, adoringly. People clap. Susie is crying. Lenny goes, “that’s my wife!”. /Scene
all hail the upper west side??? you are lovely??? i'm here with someone special tonight... someone i love dearly, almost as much as i love myself??? i thought it was sensational??? maybe someday, before i'm dead??? you want me to go away... because i would make you nervous??? i think there are many things about you men would find wildly attractive??? it's always the pretty ones who try to kill you??? you are more important than god??? to you. always??? i got to see the show corset??? i will be laughing through the entire thing, i promise??? if you blow this, midge, i swear... you will break my fucking heart???

About Lenny’s scene in season 4 episode 6. Just some thoughts, rambles and character analysis.
It is completely understandable that he acted the way he did, it threw him off and made him embarrassed being saved and taken to midges house, it was a moment of vulnerability that he understandably did not intend on showing, especially not to midge, a woman he most definitely has feelings for, he also probably got thrown off by being suddenly thrust into a strange domestic situation, especially since he has a failed one under his belt. It was basically a lot of weird uncomfortableness to process in a very short time and the fact that everyone around him was very nonchalant and talking a whole bunch probably made it worse.
I’m only writing this because I ship them so much and was worried when I saw the behind the scenes filming of this scene but now the full scene played out I’m no longer worried about their dynamic or their friendship ending.
only wise words from the lorelai gilmore
