The Midi Fighter Twister Officially Lifts Off
When laid eyes on the first MIDI Fighter that was available (this was probably over 5 years ago), I couldn’t help but wonder if there was more in store for the creators of it. The idea was very simple, and everything that you would ever need was laid out there for you. Arcade buttons are no mystery here, and we can all relate to our button mashing days in the arcade. The one thing that I have seen evolve over the years of the various MIDI fighters is their plan to stick to their original form. No matter how complex these things become, they are always in a size that is both portable and familiar to us. What is even nicer about that entire line is that these are not just made from the top down. There have been countless submissions and designs for a better controller that remains true to the original fighter form. Their newest twister fighter is exactly that. Instead of having buttons to press momentarily, the fighter is built with 16 different encoders that can do multiple things at a time. It seems to be inspired by the multi-purpose encoders that come standard with many NI controllers these days. http://www.djtechtools.com/2014/04/06/the-midi-fighter-twister-officially-lifts-off/
