If you’re not aware of the SWMRs situation from last year, basically Joey Armstrong was grooming Lydia Knight from The Regrettes, she was 16 at the time and he was 22. The relationship was abusive as well. He would constantly pressure her into sexual situations when she was 1. A minor and 2. Not comfortable with it. This was happening whilst SWMRs, The Regrettes, and Destroy Boys were all on tour together. Destroy Boys KNEW about what was happening between the two and remained complicit and silent because of “the opportunities they were getting from that tour”

Vi also very publicly mocked and shamed Lydia constantly before Lydia came forward. Vi would often draw X’s under her eyes to mock the way Lydia drew hearts under her eyes during shows. Vi also perpetuated the rumor that The Regrettes are white supremacists which is not true

Vi also called the cops on a fan after they had a breakdown and this person was forcibly put in a hospital because of this

Narsai, their drummer, also has abuse allegations. No one in the band has said anything about him and he is still in the band

Destroy Boys did apologize for everything and said that they don’t condone Joey’s actions, but they still Knew about what was happened and stayed silent on it until it blew up in their faces. They also never apologized to Lydia for the rumors they spread about her

Their bassist at the time, Falyn, was touring with them when this happened but was the only one of the four not aware of what was happening so her band, Grumpster, is still in the clear as far as I’m aware

It’s not uncommon for people to forgive them as they are all young and donated a large sum of money to orgs, but the level of hypocrisy is just too much for me to support them personally
