Where did it all begin? Did we foster this tenet out of no where? Were some just born with this intuition? I don't think it comes that easily.
To be a leader takes a lot of guts. It takes drive, passion, and inspiration. When you start to chase things, people will soon follow. (Kind of like the lemmings example, no?) It's all about perspective. You can inspire someone so easily just by starting a movement.
Some of the time, it's become so second nature to me to lead. Rather, I've become more independent and start my own goals and direction. Maybe it's just that time in our lives where we end up chasing something we love. My consistent calls with my administrator continuously remind me to be a leader. To seek development and entrust the board to fulfill their tasks accordingly.
This is the time of year where passion is still burning. Take advantage of it now, because it may not burn so hard when the year reaches the middle. These ideas are fresh and new, and the object is to keep an even flow throughout the year. As a board, I can sense we have a lot of ambition. A lot of change that we'd like to see. I, too, have so many visions for the upcoming year. I'm always hastily writing every idea down, because I know that I'll forget. But my handy-dandy notebook (throwback) is always here to guide me. Always there to remind me of what is important to me.

When we finally have our committees as a board, we'll be able to jumpstart our passions for the year and put them into play. I'm so excited for what's to come!
