Some of y'all didn't grow up in the midwest watching tornados form on your front lawn and it really shows in your scared of thunderstorms comfort fics
"Live in the Midwest," they said. "It's just corn and tornadoes," they said. Well why the fuck didn't they say that the weather here has more mood swings than a teenager?! We went from fifty degrees and stormy, to forty and foggy, to sixty and sunny, and now it's fucking snowing! Why do I live here?
Midwesterners absolutely interact
"I'm not too Midwestern"
I say as I sit on my porch
Dipping my Casey's pizza in ranch
Watching the tornadoes roll in off the corn fields.
Oklahomans will bitch about The Wind all year round. It's a constant, but it's not exactly "interferes with opening/closing doors or carrying things" strong that often.
That said, I choose to live such that every room in my house has at least one fan, many have two or three and at least one will be on all the time. So my own tastes in this matter are, perhaps, abnormal.
Aiolos, the keeper of the winds, is my chosen god for a reason.
The bit where the locals bitch constantly about The Wind, and I'm grinning and going outside to feel it press against my clothes and ruffle my hair is just a fringe bonus that I happen to particularly enjoy.
I physically cannot do this anymore. Why is it tornado weather but there are no tornadoes???
