Artwork: Miho Hirano

Recently, I’ve become completely enamored with Miho Hirano’s artwork. Her gorgeous, surreal oil paintings blend images of beautiful women with scenes and elements from nature. 

Though she most often works in pastel colors, there’s something vaguely tense and sinister in many of the paintings ... just looking at them makes me want to write something about these mysterious young women. What do you think? Are they portraits of innocence -- or of something else entirely?
