Today is #IDAHOBIT. The WHO declassified homosexuality as a mental disorder on May 17 1990. . 4 months ago today (Jan 17), on the 5th anniversary of us meeting, I married my gorgeous husband. We were lucky to surrounded by some of our family and friends who love and support us. . The 17th also has significance for us in Taiwan. Today one year ago, 17th May 2019, was the day that same-sex marriage was finally passed into law. We attended marriage equality protests and supported the cause but the referendum held in 2018 produced a negative vote. Luckily Parliament has been given a due date by the highest court and the law was amended to become effective on May 24th. . During these last 4 months, the world has been an unusual place. We were ever so lucky to squeeze our wedding in between the Australian bushfires and Coronavirus but we’re ever thankful for the love and support we’ve received. . To all the boys and girls out there that feel a little different, be proud of who you are. The world is changing and while some people & places will need a little longer to adopt to the changes, you can be who you are and love who you want to love.
