Voters in the Tennessee House of Representatives District 49 will choose between incumbent Republican state Rep. Mike Sparks and Democratic nominee Chris Mayor.
Election Day is Nov. 6, and early voting will take place Oct. 17 through Nov. 1.
District 49 includes central La Vergne and Smyrna, areas of those cities west of Interstate 24 and north of Almaville Road, and areas in Murfreesboro between Old Nashville Highway and I-24 or near the interstate.
