The first image is of producer Dan Grech. Grech is a former assistant engineer to Nigel. In this photo, you can see a pair of very familiar racks, clearly taken in Nigel’s former Hospital studio (see the distinctive column in the back of the racks).
The second image (click to scroll) is from the Instagram account of Mikko Gordon, another former assistant of Nigel Godrich. Again, you can see the distinctive column from Nigel’s Hospital studio. And being dragged off the couch, you can also see Joey Waronker, Nigel’s bandmate from Ultraista and long-time studio collaborator.
In the first photo, you can see parts of a variety of instrument/studio effects:
Korg SE-300 Stage Echo (tape delay) - on top of the first rack
UNKNOWN - on top of the second rack
Roland RE-201 Space Echo (tape delay)
Palmer PDI-09 (guitar speaker simulator)
Roland DC-20 or DC-30 (Nigel has both, see In Rainbow session photos vs. other Hospital studio photos)
Korg SDE-3000 (digital delay / effects processor)
AMS RMX-16 (digital reverb / effects processor)
UNKNOWN 2RU black-faced unit
AMS 15-80S (digital delay / effects processor)
MXR Flanger Doubler (flanger, short delay)
MXR Pitch Transposer (pitchshifter, harmonizer)
UNKNOWN (maybe an Eventide Instant Flanger or Phaser?)
Deltalab Effectron I (delay / chorus-flange)
Bel BD-80 (delay / effects processor)
AMS 15-80S (digital delay / effects processor)
In the second photo, we have a clear view of one of the racks from the previous photo. The newly pictured rack features the following:
Neve 1081 modules x 8 (mic pre / EQ)
Pultec EQH-2 (a rarer version of the famed Pultec EQ)
UNKNOWN 1 RU white-faced unit
UNKNOWN 1 RU black-faced unit
UNKNOWN 1 RU blue-faced unit
UNKNOWN 1 RU black-faced unit
Sansamp PSA-1 (distortion/DI device, also used on Paul McCartney, In Rainbows sessions and probably a variety of others)
Eventide Omnipressor (compressor/limiter)
Universal Audio 175 (compressor/limiter - looks vintage)
Spectrasonics 610 (compressor/limiter)
UNKNOWN (looks like the Inward Connections modular system)
UNKNOWN 2 RU gray-faced unit
Alan Smart C2 (compressor/limiter)
On the API 2488 console, you can see the AKG D99 binaural mic (the head, shown during photos from the In Rainbows sessions) sitting on top of what looks like 2 Scully 280 modules enclosed in a wooden case. The Scully 280 is a tape machine that is often converted into mic preamps (or maybe even line amplifiers). I can’t confirm, but the faceplates look nearly identical to the Scully.
