In PE I was running the mile(dead last btw, it was my third lap out of four and everyone besides me and my friend were already done) and I was wearing a house md t-shirt and while I was dying my teacher was like "oh I like house is that ur favourite show" and I was like "no- it's sherlock even tho its ableist and sexist and homophobic but I like it its complicated" and I can't imagine how pathetic I looked😭
We weren't even running the mile we like had to run down the long side of the track(which is an oval), do ten squats, walk down the short side, run down the long side, do ten pushups, walk down the short side, repeat
It was torture fr I'm the kid in PE that teachers constantly say "Fritz, c'mon, you can do it! Keep going!!"
i PASSED my mile for cheer!!!!!
I just ran the track in 70° weather and a hoodie (dying)
I just took a 20 minute mile run and this is me right now:
I’m tired…
I am of the humble opinion that if a gym teacher doesn’t want to (or just outright refuses to) run the mile alongside their students, the students shouldn’t have to run the mile
Ha! Found this in an old newspaper archive: a snapshot of the start of the 1600 m race at the Shore Conference Championships published in the Asbury Park Press back in May, 1997. The dude in the middle with the "South" singlet is me a few days after I turned 18. I didn't actually have a great race that day (something like 4:34 for around 9th place) but it's still pretty awesome that I wound up in the center of this shot (and kind of look like a badass).
In defense of my record (and fragile ego), I would add that the same year I took 3rd in the 1600 during the indoor edition of the same meet, contributing 6 points to our team's 40 point win (first in school history).
