TIM DRAKE-WAYNE IS rarely nervous when it comes to things like patrolling the city, running meetings at wayne enterprises, or even dealing with some of the bigger villains that often run amok in gotham -- but for some reason approaching bruce with something as important to him as coming out seems daunting. he’s often felt like the outcast of the family, even though jason is often the black sheep. he’s not built like bruce, jason, or dick and he’s not biologically bruce’s like damian is. in fact he recalls vividly having to convince bruce to even take him on as robin -- a mantle which had been swiftly ripped away by dick when bruce had ‘died.’
he supposes what scares him the most about telling bruce that he’s genderfluid and gay is that there’s a possibility of an adverse reaction. after all, it’s the reaction his parents had had when he’d been caught kissing the gardener’s son when he was 14. of course they had died not long after but if anything that had just cemented in his mind that nothing good could possibly come out of being open about who he was.
still, he needs to do this before he loses the courage to do so. he knocks quickly on the door of bruce’s study, waiting a moment before entering.
“ hey b, can we talk for a second? ” he asks softly, though firm.
