“Sorry, my cooking prowess goes out the window after eggs and bacon,” Millie joked, just finished flipping over a few eggs over in her pan. It was a simple meal but it was a small act of kindness, a thanks for him being there. Not just for the other day but if Mils paused to tally it up... countless days. Eggs made over easy slid off her pan and onto one plate, adored by bits of toast. “If you have comments for the chef, I will direct you to the suggestion box,” she joked, pausing mid-way to the sink to gesture, with pan, towards the trash can. Cooking supplies abandoned after a quick spout of running water, Millie turned back towards her brother’s childhood friend with a plate of her own. Stools open, seats open at the table, and yet she chose to eat while hopped up on the counter, plate resting on her lap. “Okay, so I tried not to over-salt it but... it is habit. Break it to me,” she requested, just short of shoveling eggs into her mouth. Her eyebrows hitched, a request of the truth. Good, bad, amazing? She wondered how he’d describe her in that moment. @honcvbees
