Somehow, I have a 2 month old.

This is simultaneously the longest and fastest adventure of my life. Still feel like pregnancy was the shortest whirlwind while maternity leave has been like watching paint dry.

Things are getting more normal. My husbands anxiety of taking the baby out lessens. We've walked around the mall, downtown and ate in a restaurant for the first times with no incidents. My husbands even slightly unpacked the diaper bag so it isnt so full.

I gave away all the newborn clothes I was gifted as we've grown out of them. Was going to wait til the little guy outgrew his 0-3mo clothes but somebody on fb was asking for donations. Otherwise, Coop has doubled in size, he likes mirrors but we are slowly introducing toys as hes becoming more aware and also more talkative. He got his first set of vaccines yesterday too. He also has a gnarly umbilical hernia the doc said will go away but its grossing me out. He still wakes up multiple times at night but he's polite about it. He sleeps in his crib more but we got a 3 in one crib that "grows" with your kid and I'm afraid we may need to go to the next size soon. I have no space for this lol. I had to buy him 3-6 month onsies because he's getting too big and Im trying to get through these size 1 diapers because Im sure we need to go up a size too. Just growing growing. Its honestly hurting me a bit to nurse because he doesnt fit in my arms too well.

adult-wise, we are still house hunting and I dropped to part time at work but dont return for a few more weeks. Ive been trying to go to the gym daily to feel accomplished. I'm pretty proud of how my body looks after having a kid but theres definitely been some shape changes. My old clothes are a bit small. But I'm only 10lbs heavier which I think it quite a flex and acceptable.

Trying to also doodle in the ipad but Im still mainly stuck on doomscrolling tiktok. I feel bad because I had really planned on reading books during my maternity leave but Ive failed that. Also, my husbands sister is supposed to come visit in October which is crazy that its not that far away.

We are still trying to figure out life but baby is well and super cute.

I can not wait until my husband is out of the national guard and completely done with the military. Having so many uniform and gear pieces to keep track of is driving me insane.

Hi witchy peoples.

It has been the WORST.

To start, a few days ago, I pulled the tower card. Fuck me, right? Okay, thought it would be maybe an argument with my husband or more of the same parenting stuff from last week. Maybe even a huge bill.....

Well, yesterday my cat had her tail caught in a door. The damage is extreme. She is scheduled for amputation this Friday. The bill? Over 700.00. Money that I don't have.

I lost it. My poor baby is injured, wearing a cone, about to lose her gorgeous tail and in pain, I'm super broke. Sales in shop have been terrible this month. It's like the world is imploding. I wasn't allowed to accompany her at the vet, because covid, so she was all alone.

Today, I'm drained. I'm whoring out my shop to the point of exhaustion trying to offset these costs. I have the biggest migraine. And zero motivation beyond caring for my soul kitty and keeping the kids alive.

I finally received the first of hopefully many letters from my Love while he’s away at Basic Training. He’s been gone for four weeks, two of which he spent quarantined in a hotel room and it’s so comforting to finally know how he’s doing.. I can’t wait for him to come home🤍

Need input from Active Duty Military or Spouses

We have all seen the coverage lately about suicide rates and mental health in the military. Leadership seems to think that having a mandatory “fun day” or giving most bases one day off is going to help this issue...but they’re wrong.

We need to help them understand that there is a big difference between making it look like you care to the masses and actually giving a crap about people as individuals with individual needs, problems, and concerns.

Yes if you are suicidal, you should let someone know and you’ll get mental health help, but after that you go back to work and it’s the same old same old. Nothing changes. Or maybe you are not suididal but overly stressed out or depressed because of your concerns not being taken seriously by leadership.

We need to get your stories, or your spouses stories out there. You can share your story anonymously because obviously you are asked to take up your concerns with the chain of command. But we all know how that goes. You can try and try but you’re never actually heard or cared about.

Now is our chance to all share our stories to help leadership and the higher ups know what is going on and help to actually make a change. Please share your stories below or in a message. No names or usernames will be used. This is all anonymous but they can’t make a change until we speak up about what is happening and where they’re going wrong.

We need stories, concerns, issues, and ideas past and present. Please don’t use anyone’s name and don’t share sensitive information.

* Personal Update

Well my ankle is locked up in such a way that the Physical Therapist in his 20+ years has never seen anything like it before, and he called in another senior colleague to consult and both of them were baffled about what is going on in there.

(The ankle is unable to invert.)

I’m finally getting an MRI next week, but it’s been almost 5 months since the initial injury. Then by the time I get results back and see the PT again, it will be January...

I have no idea what next steps will be. Fixable through PT? (I feel that is highly unlikely at this point). Referral to Orthopedic? Surgery fix only?

I suspect something with the cartilage is going on in there. There’s always low level of swelling in the foot, which I can see bc my feet are so bony and skinny. I just hope the MRI shows SOMETHING. I’m tired of my problems not getting true diagnosis. Pain over the years has gotten worse in my body systemically. And recently now my OTHER ankle has similar pain to the injured one, so it’s become symmetric pain. Still potentially CRPS? Arthritis? God, someone tell me something. Ibuprofen don’t do shit, and neither do muscle rubs.

It already makes me mad that I wasted a month with the first PT lady, and when I got transferred to this guy, he IMMEDIATELY wanted to get me an MRI.
