Centipedes recorded a handful of songs last May. We spent a week goofing off in the studio with Shane at Howl Street Recordings. Less than a month later, Pat moved to California. I kind of forgot about the songs until this morning when I came across this video:
Centipedes started about two and a half years ago. It took me two months before I didn’t feel like puking before every practice. My nerves have always been out of control and I wasn’t used to writing music with new people. On a drunken night at Cactus, Chris Brook, a guy I had never talked to, asked me if I’d be into playing sometime with him and Pat Fuller. He then gave me his phone number which consisted of all 3s and 4s.
Since then, Adam Helwin joined the band. Wednesday nights turned from practices into hang zones. The band names Sasscrotch, Fat Teen Cool Machine and No Babies were discarded. We raged with local pals in a thunderstorm during Center Street Day, celebrated record releases for our homies Call Me Lightning and Catacombz and played with international favs Monotonix (Israel) and Melt Banana (Japan). That all said, I clearly love these dudes. The record should be out in early autumn. I'm stoked.
