What if the Reader had powers ?
I just had that random thought : what if the Reader had powers in the neglect!batfam AU ? Or in a normal AU ?

Imagine a Spider-man!Reader, they got bit on a random wednesday after school, and now they have all this cool spider powers. I like to imagine that they can do all a spider can do (The mutation is strong enough that they create their own spider webs; they develop a kind of spider brain with all the spider instincts; they are very flexible, they have the venom of the spider that bit them; they can stick to walls...)
But not so long after discovering their new powers, they runs into Duke in a corridor. They didn't speak or anything, just walked past each other (they weren't going in the same direction) and Duke has to do a double take because since when is his sibling radioactive ??
And suddenly the Reader, who's not even a vigilante at that point, have all the batfam paying them attention because Duke told them that the Reader was radioactive. And now they have to discover what happened.
Imagine a Reader having mind control powers. And they start to think that they are being neglected because the batfam saw that they were a monster.
So Mind Control!Reader decide to leave and live in the streets, or try to die because they don't want to be a monster. But they are saved before that happened.
Or they become a villain. Always an option.
A Meta Raccoon!Reader. You know, I imagine Chaotic!Reader as a meta raccoon, so imagine them after coming back to life realized that not only they are alived again, but also a meta raccoon.
That Reader will freak out because since when resurrection transforms you into a meta ?? That sure didn't happened to Jason.
I can imagine Meta Raccoon!Reader stalking Jason after that because they think that Jason became a meta like them after death, but no. They will do that with every person that came back from death with the lazarus pit.
I can imagine them, especially if it's Chaotic!Reader, randomly showing up at the league one day to ask Ra's Al Ghul if that was normal.
A Reader with a time power, and they decide to become a Time Traveler. Or a Reader with space powers becoming a Space Traveler.
Once Time Traveler!Reader realized what they can do, they just decide to travel in time to know more about the past and futur, but one day they meet someone in the batfam, probably Dick, in the present and Dick think they are an hallucination because him and all the batfam thought that the Reader was dead.
It was revealed that when Time Traveler!Reader is in another era/age, there is no other me that takes their place, like they originally thought, and the time keep moving, so everyone thought that they were dead.
A Space Traveler!Reader that decide to leave Earth when they discover that they can breath in the space because of their powers and fly and teleport, and a lot of others cool things. They want to live among the stars and see all that the universe had to offer, and they saw their powers as a gift from the universe, a sign that it was their destiny.
So they travel in space, going on Earth only to eat and drink sometimes, because they think that human/Earth food is better than the ones on others planets.
They are reported as missing, and it's only on a random friday that the batfam see them again. If it's on Earth, Tim or Damian are the ones who find them, and if it's on another planet, then it's Batman.
And this Reader don't want to go to the manor, because it's not their home anymore, their home is space itself now.
A Plant Powers!Reader who's adopt by Ivy and Harley. Ivy see someone, a child/teenager like her, and decide to kidnapp adopt them.
I can see that Reader being really happy about it, they are a villain and have a lot of fun in their new life.
Ivy is the one who teach them how to use their powers and Harley always listen the Reader when something's wrong.
That Reader killed the Joker for Harley. After that they are arrested and it's only at that moment that the batfam realized that they fucked up.
A Winged!Reader that grow wings on a saturday when nobody is at the manor.
When they grow their wings, they are alone in their room, their new instincts pushing them to find their family; in most AU when someone grow wings they need their family/packmate, because of the instincts and all. And it's the same here, but because Reader is alone, their instinct push them to leave the manor to find their family/packmate.
It's Superman who found them, I headcanon that Kryptonian also have a similar thing, a sort of instinct that makes them have a pack/group (idrk how to say it; une sorte d'instinct de meute) and that they are very protective when it comes to the young ones.
So he is angry, more than angry, when he learn that this new born bird was left alone when they grew their wings. So he decide to take them, now the Reader is Clark's kid. And he, Kon and Jon, will fight everyone who try to take them away.
And the Winged!Reader is just happy to have a loving family/packmates.
(Could end up in a Superbat fic, bc I can't sse any others ways for the batfam to have the Reader back)
