Update
So, not sure if I updated here-I mostly update just on Caring Bridge now because it’s just easier but I will try to keep posting things here on occasion because I know there are a few interested parties. :)
Anyway, Mindy came home (after A MONTH! -2 weeks in the hostpital/2 weeks in rehab) last Saturday! And last Friday, I took her to chemo. And we got some REALLY good news from her labs.
Her albumin (protein that measures how much nourishment she’s getting -basically) went up (so it’s closer to the number that it should be!!
The fluid in her abdomen, legs and feet is all but gone!! (so the addition of the third chemo drug is doing it’s thing!!)
Her hemoglobin and electrolytes, etc numbers are all good!!
Her oncologist doesn’t think that her tumors are stuck to her colon-which means that when surgery comes-she probably won’t need a bowel resection -so shorter surgery, less risky, better recovery outcomes, etc.
And best of all her CA125 number (cancer marker) now at 625 DOWN from being in the 2000′s!!!!!!!!!
So, I’m feeling REALLY optimistic (which scares me!!!) that she’s going to get through this and is actually going to recover!
