Unused Matte?

Matte paintings are used to save on memory and resources by pre-rendering scenes and applying them to flat 2D planes. They’re usually far enough in the distance that any details will be naturally lost but the effect of the perspective will still be there.

That being said... I do not know where these mattes could’ve been used. The perspective of the fake interior is such that I can’t see it being used as a matte at all, and likewise the endermen are in mid stride while moving. Having a frozen image of endermen wouldn’t have worked as a matte painting. So I do not know where these two mattes could’ve been used, if at all.
