“You need to remember who you are” - Minervus
Photo from Lewis tan’s instagram. “Forget Brangelina, this is a whole new era. #Minervus 🔥You do not want to miss this ship next week!”
My Rant on #Minervus
Yes, I am a little salty about my bae Gaius being hypothetically not single now, and I can totally deal with that heartbreak (LOL) BUT, um, writers???????? (Keep in mind I’m ranting due to the hints that Minervus is going to be or might be canon in s3e7, which premieres this Sunday, if not then lol that’s fine too)
The whole point of Minerva being the Widow is that SHE BOWS TO NO MAN. I will admit and understand that Gaius is EXTREMELY well deserving and a top notch male and an ABSOLUTE gent without being overly sexual and scum, BUT???
Writers????
If you’re going to write #Minervus into canon, please make it more realistic to the Widow. She needs time and the last thing she needs in this war is to deal with a man. (As much as Gaius is actually one of the best moral and social examples of a man, let’s all be real. Men have treated my queen like shit.)
Minerva is extremely logical in making her decisions, and personally I think that this hypothetical relationship with Gaius in the middle of the war just after she reunited with him is OOC.
I would’ve been more receptive to #Minervus in the a Season 4, when Minerva can actually have and/or already have developed more character arch to HEAL and learn to accept love again compared to the rushing of a new power couple two episodes after old friends reunite.
Minerva deserves a man who knows what she wants and respects her. And, most of all, treats her like the goddamn queen she is.
In retrospect, #Minervus is beautiful, don’t get me wrong. I started shipping them from the minute the flashback scene occurred — they have a deep history and I 200% respect that. But, hypothetically making them a canon ship couple in s3e7 is not being true to or honoring the message of independence, femininity, RESILIENCE, strength, and total BADASSERY that the Widow stands for and symbolizes.
Give her time.
Rant done. Sorry not sorry. ⚔️⚔️⚔️
Poor Gaius Chau can’t catch a break lol it’s always something! My poor guy! 😩💕⚔️He is still my 🔥 though.
it needed to be done. THE HAND TOUCHING. THE EYE CONTACT. I CANNOT. and then there’s that tiny moment of hesitance before she’s like “fuck it”. and like man...this gives me feelings. ‘cause y’all know she has been through some shit. so the whole idea of starting a relationship has gotta be kinda scary. but she’s like “you know what this is a good dude i think i can trust this dude”. BECAUSE LET’S BE HONEST HE IS A GOOD DUDE. the best dude. this is a dude to be trusted. okay i’mma stop ranting now. but yes i have some emotions about this.
