This is kinda cheating because I’ve mentioned it to a couple people already, but Rod owns a ‘tiger skin’ that’s secretly a super realistic fake and a real nice blanket. He had it commissioned and the proceeds went to animal conservation. Sometimes if you bug him at his apartment he’ll answer the door wrapped up in it like a fuzzy toga.

Most people Rod works with have probably never seen his real eye color. Similarly, most ‘civilian’ people Rod knows have probably never seen his dumb contacts.

Sam is the first person Rod pulls the ‘haha, I am your Crime Dad now’ thing with, but he ends up “””””adopting”””””” a whole bunch of people by the time he dies in three to four years

He doesn’t, for the most part.

Rod operates within a set of more-or-less self defined rules in addition to whatever he thinks the people currently around him would approve of; but it doesn’t occur to him to apply any grander sense of morality to them.

I feel like every time Rod is nice or has Emotions(tm) in public, people lowkey assume its either

A. a trap

or

B. he’s Dying.

Consider: There are people out there who know Roderick “I kill people for a living” Kasun as the slightly beat-up looking but harmless guy who helps their grandma carry groceries and sits with her at church when no one else can make it. 

He has been described as a “Nice young man” 

At least one(1) priest has tried to thank him for doing Good Deeds in the community.

Probably he dealt with these Uncomfortable Feelings by doing extra crimes outside of New York

A short thing on the throat tattoo Rod ends up with, because I’m too lazy to update his tattoo page right now

Appearance: Alarming 

Technically speaking, it’s three interlocking roses in a semi-geometric style, but done in UV reactive ink. He had a little bit of a weird reaction to it, and it tends to look more like a mess of thin scars unless you know what you’re looking for. (Partially by design, in all fairness) 

The biggest rose is centered over his windpipe, while the other two curve around the sides of his throat and end just shy of his spine on both sides.

Visibility: Surprisingly low. 

It’s obviously right on, and taking up a significant portion of, his throat, but he tends to put tattoo concealer over it when he’s going out and about to reduce the number of people asking him what the hell happened.

Most visible with unexpected company, showers, black light, ect.

listen kids I’m allowed one shitpost a week so this is your friendly reminder that Rod wears colored contacts to turn his eyes from light brown to dark blue because he’s Extra for Crime Reasons. Given his propensity for being a general trash monster and deep fondness for getting in fistfights, he sometimes loses one or both of them without noticing ( though he does tend to be a little more mindful of them in serious situations ).

Fun fact: Roderick’s excuses for doing altruistic things tend to sound like the world’s worst madlibs.  Case in point: “I’m breaking you out of prison because there’s a conflict of interest with the global economy”
