The classroom had been empty, with most of the students having already left for their club activities or home for the day. Hikari was just finishing up her cleaning duties; her partner for the day had already collected the trash and wiped down the desks. Hikari was cleaning the blackboards and sweeping. She didn’t realize that she was singing until someone knocked against the door frame.
“Daisuke-kun!” Hikari nearly dropped her cleaning rag. She could feel her cheeks growing red and warm with embarrassment. “I was just... I thought I saw you leave already.”
