Reflection Ruesday
What to do: Go through your writing, art, gifs, etc. that you started but never finished and find something you love. Brush it up a bit if you want and share it.
Hoooo boy @thedissonantverses you really have me digging through my drive here. This isn't even fanfiction. The year: 2018. The person: me, ya girl, a spry 24 year old working 50 hours a week who then also tasked herself with completing nanowrimo that year but didn't want to be bothered with plotlines. I was writing a bunch of individual accounts after an apocalyptic event and stringing them together by how many days they survived. Its working title was Benedictions of the Forsaken and honestly I haven't read any of it since it was written.
Anyway, here's a bit from the prologue that really just shows me I have been able to talk in circles forever. It's my useless super power. And some low stakes (but show me ur wips if you haven't already) @thatgaymerguyb @partially-controlled-chaos
The exit sign hasn’t been a glowing salvation for anyone in many, many years. The luxury of an escape plan vanished long ago when the oasis of certainty dried up. There had been no drill that had prepared anyone for anarchy. There was no lost training manual that could have helped ease the world into pandemonium.
No, the world waits for no man. No beast. No trivial stamp of approval. The world took herself back many moons ago and lives in the way she had intended: a hotseat of bedlam and turmoil. She herself had called for a day of retribution. A day of atonement. A day of deliverance. The world herself is a mighty creature, who holds the door for no mortal any longer. She’s taken back her lands and means. She’s set herself ablaze just to be reborn again.
