A series I'd definitely recommend if you haven't read it is the Darker Shade of Magic Series by V.E Shwab! It's an adult series so it's free of a lot of the tropes of YA that tend to be overdone. It's fantasy, and made me, a fan of The Infernal Devices, super glad to have something with similar tones (Victorian London, historical references, blood magic, fantasy world/alternate dimensions). The characters are also wonderful

You should read The Bird & The Sword! Loved that one sm. It has a sequel called The Queen & The Cure, but I haven't read it yet.

you should read the priory of the orange tree! I only just started it but the author talked a lot about how since she was creating her own world, she could create it without misogyny bc "historical accuracy" in fantasy is bs

(for the book recs, if you're still taking them) not sure if this has been said already, but if you're into faeries i'd recommend the folk of the air trilogy by holly black. the characters and the world are both very interesting and complex, and the heroine is pretty different from any YA heroine i've read before. i personally also adore her writing style.
