Surprised that they didn't go into the weird evangelicals like Mike Warnke* who would intentional fake histories of Satan worship and eventual conversion to Christianity as a means of scamming the same audience as these books, but it's a HUGE subject to cover.

*He notably was involved with a woman who claimed to be Anne Frank (she wasn't, obviously) whose "survivor story", emigration to the US and conversion to Christianity was likewise used to scam gullible people.
